Our aim is to enroll all working children in schools and to make the target areas ‘child labour free’. Starting from Chennai and now in Thiruvallur district, so far ..... children have been enrolled in schools. We take care of the children from 0-5 age group in Day Care Centres (called Balwadi). Children in the age group 6-14 are formed in Children’s Clubs. They are enrolled in schools, given non-formal education and supplementary education.

We meet run away children at the point of their entry into the city and provide counseling. Those willing to go back are restored to their parents. Children who decline are housed in the shelter home. Many of such Jeeva Jyothi children have completed secondary level education successfully and some are in the Universities pursuing higher studies.

Education, health, participatory and creative training, rehabilitation, recreation, all round growth are some of the key priorities of Jeeva Jyothi for the children in our coverage.
